Annette Stroyan Celebrates 40th Anniversary with the Oldest Hockey Association in the World

Stroyan’s first day as the OHA’s Secretary was on Sept. 3rd, 1984

Cambridge, ON – Its early September 1984. The tv-show Miami Vice premiers, Tina Turner has her first #1 hit with ‘What’s Love Got To Do About It,’ Brian Mulroney is sworn in as Canada’s 18th Prime Minister, and Annette Stroyan has her first day of work at the OHA!

As many things come and go or are here now and gone the next day, Stroyan has been a mainstay with the OHA for over 40 years playing an integral part in the day-to-day operations of the organization.

“In this day and age, working in the same organization for 40 years is an amazing accomplishment”, said OHA Chair Marc Mercier. “The OHA and its members have been blessed by Annette’s 4 decades of service and her many contributions. She is an unsung hero who has made a consistent and indelible contribution to the OHA and has an unwavering commitment to service excellence in all she does”, Mercier went on to say.

Stroyan is a mother of three (3) children, as well as three (3) grandchildren. She’s a wonderful person and coworker wonderful person, that epitomizes what parental support, Christian values, and a positive attitude are all about.

With no signs of slowing down or retiring, Stroyan will continue to play an important part with the daily functions of the OHA
