OHA Top Prospect Liam Beamish Returns to Ontario!

The 17-year-old forward will make his OHL debut this week after signing with the Sarnia Sting!

Cambridge, ON – One of the OHA’s Top Prospects for the 2023-2024 season has opted to leave his team in BC and join the OHL. Liam Beamish started the year with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BCHL). Upon learning about the ability of OHA players to now be able to participate in NCAA hockey, it prompted Liam to change his plans.

The expectation is that there will be more high-end talent coming back to Ontario as a result of this momentous decision by NCAA.

The Beamsville, Ontario product scored an impressive 56 points in 46 games and was second on his team with 19 playoff points while skating with the Fort Erie Meteors last season

Beamish attributes a lot of his success to his participation in the GOJHL last season and expressed his enjoyment of his time in Fort Erie, particularly the opportunities they gave him to be out for the Penalty Kills, Power Plays, big faceoffs, and end-of-game scenario.

Liam is commitment at Penn State for the 2026-27 season.

The OHA wishes Liam best of luck as he suits up for the Sarnia Sting.
